More Progress....7/30/11

Well today we went to see the inside of the house again. The house is now locked unless someone is working on it, so we had to grab the key from the sales office. the kids had a good time running around, although they have to be very careful as there are nails, etc all over the place on the floors. We have our pre settlement walk through on Aug 24th and then we close on Aug 31st. I am getting very excited!

Big things left are flooring needs to be finished, counters in the kitchen, backsplash, appliances, and sod outside. And all the other little things I don't know about!

Front of the house..siding is done and they finished the front porch this morning! Just need the front door painted (black). But I believe they do that as one of the last things before we move in. I am very happy with how the outside colors came out. We only got to choose the color of the siding, as the outside elevation of the home was predetermined since the foundation was already poured before we signed the contract.

This area is a loft on the 2nd floor. It will be the kids 'hang out' area. Plan is to put some of their toys in here, bean bag chairs, a tv and eventually computers and desks. This is nice since we can keep an eye on them :)

House Pics 7/27/11

So since we are lucky enough to live around the corner (literally) from our new home, we are having tons of fun going over each night to check out the progress. And its moving fast now!! Today we went in and the siding was complete outside, the outside lights and lamps were up, driveway is paved, walkway to porch is paved, fireplace is almost done, most the recessed lights are done, the AC was on and all the tile in the bathrooms was complete! Super exciting. I can't wait for the kitchen counters to go in!

Tonight was really fun..Lindsay and I walked over together and we ended up hanging out with some new neighbors that live behind us. Lindsay had a ball running around with the kiddos :)

Progress on the house is really starting to move fast now. Trim is all done, drywall up, stone is up on front of house and all cabinets are in. Tomorrow it looks like the siding will be going up!

Last weekend we went to PA for our annual summer trip so Trev can play in a golf tournament with his dad and brother and the kids can visit their family. The kids all had a blast! Here are a few pics.

Big News!

Ok..I haven't blogged in FOREVER. I have to admit..I have been just so busy. Between me starting a new job last Fall, Trev rupturing his achilles at the end of February, and then Trev starting a new job in May....we have been moving at 100 mph. However, we are at 125mph now as we have bought a new house!! We are moving to a new construction single family home that is as the crow flies about a block from our current home. We can see it from Lindsay and Tyler's bedroom windows!
We first checked out the model last Summer and then in the Fall and finally with the low interest rates, decided to go for it! We signed a contract on Sat, June 18th with Van Metre Homes. The home will be ready around August 30th. We love the lot too as you can see from some of the pictures. Its hard to get a lot with any space in the community where we live and this one is actually 1/3 of an acre. There is a cul de sac on the side of the house also, which is great. And across the street from us is a nice open common area space! Perfect!!

AND..the news gets better...our house went on the market on Friday and the first person who walked through it on Friday made us an offer! So the house is sold. Now i must say I will miss our townhome VERY much. We love the neighborhood (hence we are moving so close) and will miss seeing our neighbors every day. But we will be back often!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year! Ok...well its a little late :) Its been a while since I have blogged (although I have now done two entries tonight). Work has been super busy, kids have kept me busy... I guess life is just moving fast! However, we sure had a great, fun start to 2011. We had some friends over for a little New Year's Eve party and it ended up being a really fun time! The kids had a blast....both of mine stayed up to see the ball drop!! They were so excited. They both went to Party City with me to pick out plates, noise makers, etc. And they set it all up on the table as the first picture shows. Too cute!! We had so much fun and are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends in our life!! Can't wait to see what else 2011 has in store for us!!!
